Taggiasca Olives

The Taggiasca olive is a typical product of the western Liguria area, particularly of the province of Imperia. It was planted in Taggia by the monks of San Colombano, who came from the island of Lérins, in French Provence. Since January 1997, a protected designation of origin has been established for this crop.
