Our pasta is produced in an historic pasta factory in Gragnano, in the province of Naples, using bronze dies and a slow drying process, exactly as prescribed by tradition and the consortium for Gragnano IGP Pasta.
Description
The first pasta production in Gragnano dates back to the late 16th century, with the first family-run pasta factories.
In the 17th century, following a severe famine that struck the Kingdom of Naples, pasta became a staple food in the local diet.
Naples and Gragnano possess the ideal climatic conditions for pasta production.
By the second half of the 19th century, Gragnano’s pasta factories had reached the peak of international recognition.
This legacy was officially recognized in October 2013, when “Pasta di Gragnano” was granted the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI).
